Volume I represents the growth and ever-changing compositions of an urban environment. These dynamic qualities are translated into a ‘building block like’ object which can be freely (re-) arranged and stacked in a space, bringing back playfulness into our lives.
Based on the archetypical shape of stairs in architecture the shape perfectly lends itself for construction, creating multiple and flexible functions like a table, a stool, a space divider, a podium or more decorative structures like columns.
The perforated surface of the object makes it lightweight and easy to (re-)arrange while visually referring to the repetitive patterns on facades.
